Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park

Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park is one of the natural jewels of Andalusia. This park is only 1 hour by car from Vera Playa, and has one of the most beautiful and ecological coastal strips of western Mediterranean Sea.

Its coast is located in the municipality of Níjar, with a great variety of beaches adapted to all the public, from virgin coves to urban beaches and cliffs.

In San José we find quiet coves with difficult access, such as Cala Raja and Cala de la Media Luna. San José also has some of the most visited beaches in Almería: Mónsul Beach, Genoveses Beach, Playa del Arco and San José Beach.

To continue enjoying the beaches of Níjar, we will travel to La Isleta del Moro, a fishing village by the sea where we can spend a few days in absolute tranquility.

If we continue along the coastline, we find ‘El Playazo’ of Rodalquilar. It is a beach that emulates an authentic oasis on the seashore. In addition to this spectacular beach, Rodalquilar has coves such as Bergatín and Carnaje.

Next we find Agua Amarga, a small and picturesque town that has some of the best coves in the province, such as Cala de Enmedio and Cala del Plomo.

Finally, the beaches of the municipal area of ‘Las Negras’ stand out, in which dark sands are mixed with gravel zones. In addition to the town’s beach, the municipality has one of the most popular beaches because it is considered one of the last hippy strongholds of the continent: Cala San Pedro, in which there are no rules, just passion for nature.
